Condolence & Memory Journal

This breaks my heart to see! I was searching online to see if I had somehow missed the passing of Margaret and came across this. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
I used to care for Margaret and Ed in Abilene

Dear Shirley, I hope you will remember me...I worked for Irvin throughout most of the '80's at Hamilton Properties. I am so very shocked and saddened to see that Irvin has just recently passed away! I have such fond memories of working for him...he was so very kind and he inspired my love for real estate to this day. Both you and Irvin made me feel like my job at Hamilton Properties was like my second home. It has been 30 years, and for some unexplainable strange reason I just googled Irvin out of the blue...only to see this very sad and unexpected news. I am so sorry for your loss, Robert, Paige and Ross are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Shirley and family - Memories are many, but words are few to express our profound sadness in learning of Irwin's unexpected passing. It is hard to imagine that a friendship that began as nursery mates in church through our college years in Abilene led to such a relationship that has impacted my entire life. That was the kind of man that Irvin was. He truly made a difference in all those he came in contact with. Know that we are praying that God's grace will give you comfort in your loss.

Shirley, I was shocked to see that Irvin had passed away. You and your family are in my thoughts, in fact I have thought of both you and Irvin often. We should have gotten together somehow. A couple of weeks ago Nancy (I don't remember her maiden name) Jones asked if I remembered meeting her during a campout at the Colorado River. I did not remember at the time, but on reflection I think we and your family had a good time at the Colorado River State Park. I am sure that it was some type of family outing, just don't remember. Also, at Johnny Russell's XO reunion a couple of years ago some of us brought up Irvin and Shirley. That was always what I thought of: Irvin and Shirley. Time seems to fly doesn't it. I am so sorry for our loss and wish you well in the future. Irvin and Shirley always brought a good feeling to me. Larry D. Robertson, 2143 South 10th Street, Abilene, TX 79605

A Tribute to Irvin L. Hamilton

Irvin Hamilton was a man with a gentlemanly style,
As shown there on his face with that winsome smile,
That smile reflecting the wonderful man I did know,
Gentleness and grace to all who knew him did show.

A man of quiet nature who I have known a long time,
I search for the right words to describe him in rhyme,
But it really doesn't matter for Irvin lived life so well,
Know God to Irvin Hamilton a welcome home did tell.

Irvin and Shirley were the best of friends to me. Irvin and I shared our first office space together. Irvin was a brilliant, hard working, family and God loving man. Shirley, Robert, Paige and Ross; your husband and dad was the best! Lean on us, your friends for life.

Dear Shirley, Robert, Paige, Ross and Family - We were deeply saddened to hear of Irvin's passing. Even though only a few years together in high school, Irvin was a lasting and positive influence on our lives. No doubt the same is true for hundreds, if not thousands, of fortunate people whose lives Irvin enriched. Beyond the fond memories, Irvin was and continues to be a role model through his ability to excel in all endeavors with dignity and sincere care for others. Shirley, observing you and Irvin together in high school and seeing the joy that you brought to him, it was clear that he found the love of his life. Irvin was a lucky man. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us. Irvin's impact on others will endure as he lives on in each of us. We are all better for it.

I am saddened to read of the passing of this old friend. Shirley, though I haven't seen you and Irvin since our school band days so many years ago, I have such fond memories of you both. Irvin was a true old-school gentleman even in his youth, and I'm sure you two have led a fine life. God's blessings on you and family.

Shirley we are so sad to hear the news of Irvin's passing. Nancy and I have so many fond memories of you and Irvin at McMurry. It is so good to see another couple of high school sweethearts go the distance and have such a wonderful family and life together. Irvin was such a fine person and we will cherish the memories. Shirley,,Irvin and I had texted not to long ago and said we would all get together this year, when we would be settled into our cottage. I thought we still had some time on the board to make it make happen, but was wrong. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,
Our love Richard & Nancy Gore
