Tribute & Message From The Family

Cristina Cooper, 51 passed away at home in Austin Texas after a prolonged battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Cristina is a graduate of J.H. Reagan high school, and the University of Texas School of Architecture Architectural Studies and received her Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Texas School of Law. Cristina worked for the Texas Attorney General's Office, several private law firms, was a Professora in Italy, had her own independent law practice, and most recently managed to find a wonderful fit with the non profit Texas Legal Service Center which provides a hotline for legal advice to Veterans and Texans over 65 free of charge.

Cristina was a strong and vivacious woman who had a fierce love for her family and a passion for practicing law and traveling. Cristina was a prolific volunteer in her kids extracurricular activities and at their schools. Cristina was also a faithful Catholic and believed strongly in the power of Faith and held a belief in a beautiful life after death with all her close friends and family.

During her 2 1/2 year battle Cristina often exceeded her doctors expectations and more than one doctor at MD Anderson characterized her strength and tenacity as "Remarkable". We agree!

Cristina is survived by her husband William Cooper and three children Blake, Mia, and Cristian Cooper, her Mother Odalmira Loya Garcia, her Father Antonio Mireles, and her brothers Tony Mireles, Roger Mireles, and Sam Mireles.

A Memorial service and Rosary will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 North Lamar Boulevard Austin Texas 78705 on Saturday December 8 2018 with a Reception from 2-3pm, Memorial Service from 3-4pm followed by the Rosary.

Funeral mass will be at St. Teresa Catholic Church at 4311 Small Drive Austin Texas 78731 on Monday December 10th at 12:30pm with interment following at Austin Memorial Park 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, TX 78731.

Finally, please help us advocate for better research and treatment for Pancreatic Cancer

Condolence & Memory Journal

Today I learned of Christina's passing. Christina was my CHLSA sister at The Law School. Vivacious and always cheerful, she was part of a very special Latino fraternity at UT from 89-92. I want to express my deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
