Tribute & Message From The Family

Joyce Elaine Underwood, loving wife and mother died peacefully at age 84 in her home surrounded by family and close friends on Friday, November 30, 2018.
Elaine was born and raised in San Saba, Texas. She was the only daughter of Cyrus and Lola Reynolds.

She was the loving wife to Damon Underwood for 40 years. They had three daughters, Brenda Jennings, Vickie Simmons and Carol Boyd and an extended daughter Theresa Tuel. Elaine's favorite things were being a Mema to her 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and so many others.

She was a nurse and caregiver for so many. She loved her family, her friends, her pictures but first and foremost she loved her Lord with all her heart. If there was one word to describe Elaine it would be Faith. She lived her life by faith.

She taught this to all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, extended family and to all those she touched. This was taught by the way she lived her life.

Elaine had a special way of making everyone she interacted with feel that they were the most important person in the world with her kind and gentle spirit.
Elaine loved and cherished her pictures. She had an amazing story for each picture. She made many picture books for her loved ones each one unique as she. She spoke powerful and gentle words that we will always carry in our hearts.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Brenda Jennings; granddaughter, Melissa Simons; grandson, Billy Ray Simmons; and two brothers, Budgie and Kenneth Reynolds.

She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Simmons and Carol Boyd, grandchildren; great grandchildren; and countless family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018 Weed Corley-Fish Leander Chapel, 1200 S. Bagdad Rd., Leander, Texas followed by Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Interment in Bagdad Cemetery.
