Condolence & Memory Journal

I am so sorry to learn this. I was in a band with Bob in Dallas, when we were kids, before he moved to Louisville. I only saw him once after that, when he came back to Dallas and came to hear his old band, and he left me a copy of "All Over The World." I was blown away this morning when I heard his record on the 60's channel on Sirius XM, and started trying to find him, only to find this... well, I can say for sure, he's rocking on...

Carol, we're so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We really enjoyed being y'all's neighbors, even though we were bad long distance friends! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will miss Bob tremendously. As a child, I remember Bob's magic shows and thought he was the coolest person I knew! Mom and Bob were not only cousins but close childhood friends. My heart grieves for my family and the loss of an amazing, kind, and talented man.

Carol, I was saddened today as I read of Bob's death. I still have some of the magic tricks he gave me. I enjoyed knowing both of you and hope there were many happy times in the house on the Pedernales. Please let me know if I can do anything during this time.

I worked with Bob for many years. He was one of the finest people I've ever known, and I shall miss him. My condolences to Carol and his entire family. What a guy.

My father was neighbors with Bob and Carol while I was growing up. They never hesitated to allow us to raid their movie collection for our yearly beach trips. Some times we were more excited about getting to check out his movies than the trip itself!

Every time we visited Bob would show us some close up magic and let us guess how he did it. The one trick that took me years to figure out was with a deck of Bicycle cards that when flipped, would show the rider fall off the bike and pull out a placard with my name on it that he had me whisper into the deck first.

I was so blown away and that trick among many has stuck with me for the last 20 years.

The myriad of tricks he performed stimulated my curiosity and wonder so much that I've since adopted the practice with my own children. One day I'll figure out the bicycle card trick and blow my son's mind in Bob's name.

My deepest condolences to Carol and the rest of Bob's family and friends. He will be remembered with a smile for all of the joy he brought into this world.

Hey Neighbor, for so many years my family enjoyed Bob's movie selections he taped for our vacations at the beach. His magic tricks made true believers out of my children and myself. Thank you for the fondest of memories. -Al and boys
