Tribute & Message From The Family


Ruth Emma Gloyna went to the loving arms of Heavenly Jesus on September 19, 2018. She was born September 17, 1926 in Paige, TX. Her parents Alvin and Ella Kunkel preceded her in death as did her sister Edna Ogrodny and brother Milton Kunkel.

She is survived by her only child, Judy Tawater and husband Charles, her granddaughter Renee Tawater and grandson Charlie Tawater. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her little chihuahua Joey was very special to her, as well as her friends at Faith Lutheran Church.

Ruth was a very creative seamstress for over 50 years and a wonderful cook.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday, September 24 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with funeral services staring at 11:00am in their chapel. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Criss Denley, Renee Tawater, Michael O'Neill and Matthew O'Neill.

The family would like to express loving appreciation to Pflugerville Nursing Care and CIMA Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

We will miss you very much and will always remember you and know you are in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ruth was a lovely, caring woman to whom I took my alterations for many years. I always looked forward to seeing her pretty smile whenever I would visit her. She would give me pecans from her tree when it was producing. I will miss her and extend my sincerest condolences to her entire family. Ruth was definitely a bright light in this world.

Ruth was part of the heart and soul of our neighborhood. She always had a kind word for everyone. Of course, she was also an amazing seamstress. She will be missed by all.

Ruth was a wonderful neighbor. Not only did she beautifully alter clothes but she was so kind whenever we helped her out. She even baked us a cake once! We have missed you in our hood Ruth. You were a treasure.

Ruth was a special neighbor in Brentwood who did fantastic seamstress alterations. I lived on Arcadia Ave and enjoyed her historical perspectives on the neighborhood. Many will miss her helpful, pleasant style.
