"I have just come to known and am very sorry & sad that Jim Russell passed away. I had met Jim at Mobil North Office in Aberdeen, Scotland, where I was sent for a short assignment from MEPSI, Dallas. There after, I worked with and for him in DRL and MEPTEC. Through out my affiliation with Jim, I found him very sincere, supportive and easy to reach & work. Later we used to come across in Exxon Mobil Houston downtown, where I was occasionally going for consulting work.
My wife, Manju & I also met you, Helen, at a holiday dinner that Jim gave for his Reservoir Engineering group members. Please accept our heartfelt condolences, and we pray the God to give you and your family much strength to bear his loss. He is in better hands now!
Take care and regards,

"Dear Helen Russell and family: Dear Helen, when I was in South America, days ago I heard about the demise of your beloved Jim as a result of a long illness. Our dear Jim in spite of his indomitable efforts succumbed at the end. My wife Helen Atocha, our children and I join you in our prayers for his soul, who eternally rest in peace."

"Dear Helen. I am very saddened by Jim's death. Jim was a special man, a man other men looked up to and admired. He was happy, optimistic, family focused, and a significant contributor during his career at Mobil and Exxon Mobil. And of course we all would like to be a single handicap golfer. But what I remember the most - he was a really nice person. You and your family were blessed. I pray for your peace and understanding in the difficult days ahead."

"Jim Russell was the epitome of strong work ethic, integrity, loyalty and consideration... in his work, his golf, and obviously in his family life. I always admired and respected him for each of those attributes and more. He shall be missed. I will miss him. God's speed."

"Dear Helen, Eileen, Sarah, James and Families, Our sincere sympathies to you all on this very sad news. Whether at work or play, Jim's sense of fun, wit and mischief would always ensure time spent in his presence was time very well spent. We loved and will never forget the dinner parties, and of course the golf trips to Fancourt and back on home turf in Co Cork. Truly memorable times that will last forever. Jim will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time."
