Daniel C. McKeachern, was called home into the arms of the Lord on August 11, 2008, in Austin Texas. He was born on July 29, 1917 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He is survived by his four daughters Janice Ann McKeachern, Danielle and husband Bill Adkins, Carole Johnson and Dawn Santangelo; sister Janice Betty McKeachern, grandchildren; Gray Adkins, Cade Adkins, Giles Adkins, Michael Ewing, Juliette Hoestenbach, Nicholas Santangelo; former wife Jeanette Ott McKeachern. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Edith and sister Avis McDonald. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. Before moving to Austin in 2000, he lived in Coral Gables, FL. There, he graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1950 and was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He practiced Law from 1950-1986 and within that time frame he was a stock broker as well. In 2000, he received recognition for 50 years of membership in the Florida Bar. He belonged to the Theatre Group of The Country Club of Coral Gables where he appeared in more than 25 productions. Graveside services were held in New Bedford, MA. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2128 Barton Hills Drive, Austin on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
