Ebbie was my brother's (Byron Spain) friend. My best Ebbie memory was when he caught a snake and was trying to keep it in his bedroom without his mother knowing. It got loose in the house and he was afraid to tell her because he knew he would catch it. I don't know if the snake was ever found.

Uncle Ebbie was truly a special man. We will always remember his vivacious spirit and spunk. Most of all, I will remember he was a man who was actively present in all our lives. He was there front and center, in the moment. He made you feel special, important, and that you were loved. He extended his love to my husband and children and formed a unique bond with my son. He was truly present in their lives and made

Uncle Ebbie was a wonderful person to be able to know and love. Our family will miss him greatly, and the annual Christmas gatherings will never be the same without him. He was such a huge presence in our lives and we are all better for having known him.

I remember Uncle Ebbie as energetic, fun, loud, and loving. I loved it when he came to watch me play basketball and greatly appreciated how he always supported me in everything I did. He even got me into Westlake's summer basketball camp one year and let me stay with him and Aunt Mary Sue. That was the first time I was ever on a plane and it was an awesome experience!

Thank you Uncle Ebbie for being such a wonderful

Ebbie was my big brother and I was so proud to be his sister. I remember our wonderful holidays and vacations growing up. I remember his first car, him being a football super star, and especially I remember when I was eleven years old he brought this beautiful girl named Mary Sue home to meet us. He loved life. He was there for us. Thank you, Ebbie, for everything!

Your Sister,
Diane

Mary Sue,

Thank you for everything you did for Ebbie. You took such wonderful care of him. You loved each other so very much. Ebbie was at my side when Leonard died and was always there for Stephanie. What a joy my grandchildren had when you and Ebbie attended their birthday parties, school programs, and sports activities. Ebbie loved his nieces and nephews and was a loving brother to me. What a wonderful gift of love he gave to all of us.

Dad-

You will be missed hourly. it's hard to imagine a world without my daddy. I have been blessed a million times over with your love and protection. I hope you are running around in heaven free of pain and walking straight up with the confidence you always had. it was hard seeing you in such pain and the thing that gives me most peace is knowing you are whole again. You are precious and I love you always and forever.
