Mark Edward Gobble, 37, of Austin, Texas, died on Monday, June 10, 2012. He was born on June 11, 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida to Edward (Eddie) M. and Diane D. Gobble.
Mark is survived by his wife, Leslie Hussey; two children, Trent E. Gobble and Shanna E. Gobble; mother, Diane Gobble; sister, Dee Dee Fenwick and husband Billy Fenwick; sister-in-law, Barbara Hussey and husband Jackson Busenbark; niece, Brooke Fenwick Downing; nephews, Trey Fenwick, Preston Busenbark, Royce Busenbark; mother and father-in-law, Dave and Hester Hussey; godparents, Georgia Isaac and Jerry Isaac.
Mark graduated from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Gallaudet University in 1997 and a MEd from the University of North Florida. He also received an MS and EdS in Education from Gallaudet University and a PhD from the University of Texas in 2012.
He became a history teacher at the Texas School for the Deaf in 2001, and eventually became an Associate Principal and Principal at the HS department at TSD. He was about to begin a new job as Associate Professor at the Center for the Study of Communication and the Deaf at Boston University.
He had just launched MARK Skateboards, a successful company that sold custom boards. The company was a celebration of his personality, and it was a way to express his ideas and spirit to a world that he loved. In addition to his myriad academic pursuits, he was an organizer of TEDxIslay, a TED event that brought together thinkers and doers in the deaf community. He was an inspiration to many in his close-knit community.
Mark had many interests but his number one passion was to his family and his friends. He was a wonderful husband and father, a teacher, and a mentor. He was a climber of mountains, and he took the courageous step of leaving a successful career behind in order to conquer greater challenges.

It is still hard to believe this was happening to Mark Gobble. I had known him since we were little. His late father was a heck of a teacher. He taught me so many things, not only in the classroom, but the whole life itself. When Ed Gobble had to leave so soon, I just knew by my heart that Mark would not disappoint his father aftermath. At the end, Mark has shown what it was supposed to be in

My prayers goes for Mark's mother, Diane and his immediate family.

Leslie, I don't think we have met Mark but our hearts ache for you. Such terrible and tragic news that no one want to experience. After reading about Mark, you are so bless to have such a wonderful man to be part of your life. Amazing guy that touched so many people.
Be strong, your kids need you more but don't overwhelm yourself .. you have your mom, dad, sister, other families and many friends willing to be there for you as you go through difficult time.
Our deep sympathy and you are in our prayer.

We were so saddened to hear the horrible incident about Mark and we felt this was not real. It's hard to believe what happened. It shook our heads. About Mark, himself, he has so many talents in him but he didn't show. He is like a book inside him. He didn't look like he was football player or coach but he showed it. He didn't look like he was a business man but he already established one such as MARK

To Gobble's and Hussey's
Mark and I was very close all through out high school at FSD and we graduated together too. We went through so much together that made our memories memorable!! I thank you, Mark for the great friendship that we had. I will cherish everything that I had it with you in my Heart.
To Mark, I promise you I will tell Your Precious Angels all the stories about you; How their dad was, who you were,

Trent and Shanna, I remember your Dad emailed me and shared the stories how your mom and dad went and got you both. Your Dad was so thrilling big time, so your mom. Your dad was so proud of you both. He loves you very so much! Please remember this.
Now, Mark Edward, you go on resting high on that mountain, son, your work here is done. You left a big legacy here. You became our Nation's Golden Child. You are not forgotten.
Please, I am sending you my heartfelt deepest sympathy and thinking of you all.
Love you Mark!

I wanted to say I am sending my regards to the family and friends about Mark. Mark was a good and humble guy. He would walk and stop to see how I am doing. Mark was a good person because he does not walk by ignoring people. He wanted to make sure all of us was ok and are doing good. He had a good great personality. I just wanted to say that Mark was a good man.. I know
