Walter L. Rowse, of Lakeway, Texas passed away peacefully on, March 26, 2011 after a short illness. He was 97 years old.

Mr. Rowse was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the age of 16, and graduated with a degree in Economics. He went on to the University of Wisconsin School of Law and received his law degree. He was a member of the Wisconsin and California Bars and was qualified to argue at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Rowse served his country in WWII and rose to the rank of Major in the Army. After the war, he joined the The Ralph M. Parsons Company in California, and ultimately became Treasurer and General Counsel. After his retirement from Ralph M. Parsons Company in California, he continued his legal career abroad and was appointed Special Counsel by the Saudi Royal Commission to Aramco in Saudi Arabia from 1979-1989.
While working overseas, he and his beloved wife, Virginia Tuttle Rowse, who predeceased him, traveled the world.

Mr. Rowse was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed skiing and sailing. Mr. Rowse was an active member of Rotary International and Lakeway Men's Breakfast Club.

Mr. Rowse was a voracious reader himself and volunteered at the Austin Literacy Organization, helping adults learn to read.

He is survived by his niece, Nancy R. Burrows and her husband Philip and his nephew Gary S. Rae and his wife Patricia; 5 grand nephews and nieces; and 4 great-grand nephews and nieces.

Funeral service and interment for Mr. Rowse, will be at a later date at the family plot in Wisconsin.
