The angels came and took our sister, Rachel Yruegas, age 68, of Buda, to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 25, 2003. Rachel was born March 24, 1935, in Austin, to Cosme and Santos Yruegas. They preceded her in death. She was a life-long resident of Buda and a member of Santa Cruz Catholic Church. Anyone who knew Rachel was greeted with a smile and she was a friend to everyone. She had a tremendous amount of love for animals. She is survived by five sisters, Lydia Collins, Janie Yruegas, Vera Yruegas, Mary Duprey and Julia Vasquez; and many other family members. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2003, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, in Buda, with Father Joseph Deane as celebrant. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Austin. The family wishes to thank Austin Hospice for the kind and caring support given to Rachel during her illness.
