In Memory of John Robert Shockley
John Robert Shockley, 70, of College Station, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. He was also a long time resident of Round Rock and Plano. He was born on October 15, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Augustus and Madonna Shockley.
John is survived by his newly-wed wife, Janice Shockley of College Station, TX; daughters, Lorinda Beekmann and husband Steve of Plano, TX; Lynn Carolus and husband Ted of McKinney, TX; Deborah Shultz and husband Bob of Bryan, TX; and grandchildren, John Derek Shultz, Corey Shultz, Aubrey Shultz, Jacob Beekmann, and Kaylea Beekmann; her children, Theresa Hart, David Matos, Cori Contreras and their spouses and children; his beloved dog, Molly, and many dear relatives and friends. John was proceeded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Karen Sue Shockley; his parents, Augustus and Madonna Shockley; and beloved Labrador, Mocha.
John was employed by EBCO General Contractor, Ltd. of Cameron as Director of Business Development for the past 11 years. He was also employed by GM for 19 years and attended Purdue. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. John never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his generous heart and service to God.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, February 6 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, TX. Services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 7 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis at 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, TX 78734. Interment will be at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX. John's grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
